People often call me a leadership, culture, and transformation expert. I appreciate that, but it didn’t happen overnight. One of my favorite quotes says it best: “It took me all my life to become an overnight success.” And whew, if that ain’t the truth.
Whether I’m at a CHRO round-table, mentoring at a conference, or sitting across from someone in an interview, the question always comes up, sometimes directly, sometimes between the lines: How did you get here?
The answer? It’s been a journey.
From entry-level HR roles to the C-suite. From community spaces to executive boardrooms. My path has been shaped by incredible people, hard-won pressure moments, and more than a few pivots I never saw coming. I’ve led through billion-dollar mergers, industry disruption, unexpected career pivots, personal reinvention, even a medical crisis that nearly took me out. But each chapter refined me. Made me stronger. Clearer. More grounded in who I am and how I lead.
Transformations, change leadership, and transitions kept calling me. And I kept saying yes. Again and again.
That’s how I learned to lead through fire. That’s how I became a workforce at scale strategist, culture and performance driver, and talent stewardship champion. I’ve been quietly making noise in the HR space for years, but something tells me… the volume’s about to rise.
Read on to explore how I got here, twists, turns, hard lessons, and all.
